چکیده

Abstract The Coles Hill uranium deposit, with an indicated resource of about 130 Mlb U3O8, is the largest unmined deposit in United States. hosted Taconian (approx. 480–450 Ma) Martinsville igneous complex, which consists Ordovician Leatherwood Granite (granodiorite) and Silurian Rich Acres Formation (diorite). host rock was metamorphosed to orthogneiss during Alleghanian orogeny 325–260 Ma), when it also underwent dextral strike-slip movement along Brookneal shear zone. During Triassic, extensional tectonics led development Dan River Basin that lies east Hill. mineralized zone brittle structures footwall Triassic Chatham fault forms western edge basin. Within fracture zones, silicate uranium-bearing fluorapatite traces brannerite form veins breccia-fill chlorite, quartz, titanium oxide, pyrite, calcite. Uranium silicates coat replace primary titanite, zircon, ilmenite, sulfides. Sodium metasomatism preceded accompanied mineralization, pervasively altering forming albite from feldspar, depositing limpid rims on titanite oxide calcite, riebeckite. Various geothermometers indicate temperatures less than ~200°C mineralization. In situ U-Pb analyses Ti-oxide, apatite, Rb/Sr U/Pb isotope systematics whole-rock samples, resolve timing geologic processes affecting containing euhedral dated at 450 445 Ma, agreement previously obtained ages zircon complex. Geology and Mineralogy of Uranium Deposits from Mount Isa, Australia: Implications for Albitite Uranium Deposit Models

New geological, bulk chemical and mineralogical (QEMSCAN and FEG-EPMA) data are presented for albitite-type uranium deposits of the Mount Isa region of Queensland, Australia. Early albitisation of interbedded metabasalt and metasiltstone predated intense deformation along D2 high strain (mylonite) zones. The early sodic alteration paragenetic stage includes albite, riebeckite, aegirine, apatite...

Geology, mineralogy, and geochemistry of Mashkan barite deposit, north eastern Sabzevar, Khorasan Razavi province

Mashkan deposit is located northern Soltanabad, Sabzevar, Khorasan Razavi province, and tectonically, between Eastern Alborz zone, north Sabzevar ophiolite zone and Binalood zone. Geology of the area includes sedimentary rocks like sandstone, limestone, conglomerate, shale, marl and Eocene volcanic units. Barite mineralization as vein-veinlets with the mainly NW-SE trend has cut off the rock un...

Geology and Geochemistry of the Golden Butte Mine- A Small Carlin-Type Gold Deposit in Eastern Nevada

The Golden Butte sediment-hosted disseminated (Carlin-type) gold deposit is located on the western flank of the Cherry Creek Range in east central Nevada. The ore body contains nearly 3 million tons of gold ore with an average grade of 0.031 ounces per ton. The main host of the gold ore is the Mississippian Chainman Shale, a carbonaceous, silty claystone to siltstone. A low-angle (normal?) faul...
